Jiro Family

Mika, Kyotoku, Kyoka Jiro

Music composers are heroes, too.

How was Kyoka brought up?

As a musicians’ descendant Kyoka was raised, of course, with music – learning to sing and play various musical instruments, including drums and guitar.
  • In Ancient Greece music took an essential place in education.
  • This also helps develop auditory memory (for example, about 80% of the data our brain receives comes from vision; people with better hearing can recognize timbres of somebody or something more easily).
  • Singing gives better breathing control.
  • Playing an instrument improves haptic, or tactile memory (data goes in brain via touch) as well as coordination of movements.
  • Achieving in music makes the kid gain self-confidence, but at the same time it teaches them to be disciplined, responsible and considerate as the music isn’t only for the performer.

Why did Kyoka decide not to have a career in music?

Despite not wanting all music she had been taught to be in vain, Kyoka decided to become a hero as she has always admired saving other people and found this cool.

How did her parents react to her decision?

Kyotoku and Mika comforted their daughter who found it difficult to tell them what she wanted to be. Her dad explained her he didn’t want her to feel obligated to become a musician and she was free to choose. Her parents said what made the perfect job the thing you enjoy doing and which can be done for long. Her mum pointed out that a hero and a composer are pretty much the same – they help others but in different ways. Musicians heal the soul whereas heroes rescue people in difficult situations.

What kind of parents are they?

They easily agreed to let Kyoka in the dorms for the sake of her safety. Both of her parents seemed like emotional people, especially Kyotoku who found All Might in his last fight very cool and was glad him to be his daughter’s teacher. Kyoka’s dad wanted to look strict in front of All Might and Aizawa, but Kyoka gave him away. This caused a small argument which was stopped by Mika who took the role of a peacemaker saying that they shouldn’t be that loud as they weren’t at a punk concert.

How did Kyoka’s parents fall in love?

Her dad Kyotoku fell for Mika’s musical abilities. As they had the same job and one and the same passion – music, their relationship progressed to getting married and having Kyoka

What does the Jiro family has in common with the Bakugou family?

1. Child’s name choice.

 Jiro family Bakugou family
Kyoka – a mix of the parents’ names Kyotoku and Mika.

kyo – means sound
Katsuki – a mix of the parents’ names Masaru and Mitsuki.

katsu – win; ki – self

2. The dad is more obedient than his wife.

 Jiro familyBakugou family
Kyotoku adopted his wife Mika’s surname Jiro which isn’t a common act in all countries over the world.Masaru is a pacifist, can’t deal with his angry wife and is too quiet in argumets.

3. Parents’ age gap.

Mika36
 Bakugou family
Masaru42
Mitsuki38

The wife is 4 years younger than her husband.

4. One of the parents was amazed by the job the other one did.

  Jiro family  Bakugou family
Kyotoku got interested in Mika due to the musical talent she had. Mitsuki was astonished at Masaru who was a designer (usually not a profession for males).

5. There is a peacemaker in both families.

In the Jiro family it is Mika whereas in the Bakugou one Masaru feels like being such (he isn’t very good at it, but he’s trying).

6. Who the kid takes after.

  • When it comes to looks, both Kyoka and Katsuki takes after their mums.
  • Kyoka has inherited Mika’s quirk  Earphone Jack. Bakugou’s Explosion is a mixture of his parents quirks, but looks more like his dad’s one.
  • Kyoka likes rock music like her dad while Mika is into punk.

7. Why the kid wants to be a hero.

Being a hero is cool, admirable and inspiring!

8. Their child plays a musical instrument.

Jiro couldn’t do everything at the concert – singing, playing the guitar, playing the drums. Sero remembered Bakugou mentioining taking music classes as a kid and provoked him into playing the drums. Bakugou turned out to be very good at it even though he played long ago. Taking this part of the concert suited him a lot.

9. Children’s temperament.

Kyoka isn’t as short-tempered as Katsuki. However, when she gets mad or annoyed, Jiro tends to use her quirk against the irritant like Bakugou does. Also, they both feel embarrassed when it comes to achievements or abilities untypical for heroes although it is difficult to be noticed in Katsuki.

  1. Are you going to do one for all the class A students?

    1. For now it can't be done for all of them as there is no family information about more than a half of the students. There is most about Midoriya, Todoroki and Asui families and less about Iida and Uraraka.
