BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA MOST POPULAR THEORY FINALLY CONFIRMED

The Todoroki family is one of the most important figures in Boku no Hero Academia storyline. It has really complicated relationships and affects family problems still occurring nowadays. A parent who is drunk on his unfulfilled ambitions and demands his children to achieve what he hasn’t. A husband who abuses his wife because she was against him. A parent who neglects the children which won’t be of direct use and focuses only on one of them. What are the results of this demeanour? The Todoroki sons are bright examples.

Dabi Theory

Dabi – Mystery: 5/6

When Dabi appeared in Forest Training Camp and Hideout Raid Arcs, one of the most popular theories was born. He was immediately connected to Shouto and from there to the Todoroki family. Kohei Horikoshi gave little by little clues about this connection within about 200 chapters. This is a sign of great patience to reveal Dabi’s true identity at the right moment. Also, Horiksohi put off the coming out of chapter 290 with a week probably because to make the expectation to one of the greatest plot twists even bigger.

Dabi’s quirk

Cremation: a fire quirk stronger than Endeavor’s as blue flames have fire higher temperature. Dabi’s deep burn marks is a result of incompatibilty with his quirk. Parts of his skin are too sensitive towards the heat from the flames which is inherited from Rei (ice quirk).

When Endeavour fought the high-end Nomu Hood in the last episode of season 4, he had flashbacks of his children as kids.

When Dabi and Hawks fight, Dabi calls him Keigo Takami. Hawks’ real name has been kept in secret since he was a child and started his training as a hero organized by the Government. This tuition for heroes itself was secret, too, and the only professional one apart from UA but way harsher. Only special or talented children were accepted. That’s why Hawks was shocked when Dabi said his surname and asked him: ‘Who are you?’ Dabi revealed it here to Hawks, but not officially to the fans, unfortunately it happens around 20 chapters later.

Except for Hawks there is no information about the other students in the hero government course. 

However, it isn’t impossible that Endeavor sent his eldest son to it even though he knew that such harsh training when quirk is incompatible with the body can kill or injure seriously Touya. This was Enji’s way to get rid of his failed experiment or as he was the only kid with a stronger quirk than his dad before Shouto, Endeavor wanted to make Touya a hero at all costs.

In an argument with Natsuo on family dinner Enji says he killed Touya and he probably meant sending him to that course.

His hate towards fake heroes especially towards Endeavor was obvious. This talked about Dabi knowing Enji’s dark side from closer than the society sees him – as a decent and exemplary hero.

Chapter 290: Dabi’s dance

Dabi appeared in the most inappropriate moment for heroes when they were fighting with Shigaraki. Endeavor called out Dabi who was a bit disappointed with his own family – Enji and Shouto, could never guess he was Touya. At this moment Dabi washed off the dye of his hair and it got its natural color – white like Rei’s (crimson like Enji’s in the anime).

He also recorded his life story, revealed his identity and showed Endeavor’s skeleton in the cupboard. The video was being broadcasted on the internet and all airwaves. In it Dabi confessed about committing over 30 murders of innocent people as a result of Endeavor abandanoning him as a failure to surpass All Might.

This was the start of Endeavor’s fall as a hero and  Dabi’s long-waited maximal destruction of his career. Not only stigmatizing Endeavor’s name as a hero but the whole hero society as he is the top hero of the nation. This will make people think that Endeavor and the villians are not too different and just crazy people who have extreme fights endangering normal people’s lives.

Shouto, the youngest, was considered Enji’s perfect child. Touya wasn’t the ideal one, but the best Endeavor could have until Shouto’s quirk appeared. Suddenly, Touya was completely unnecessary for Enji and was replaced by little Shouto. As Shouto is most connected to Endeavor, Touya hates him, too, and considers him Endeavor’s marionatte. Killing Shouto would be the way to ruin Endeavor’s success (hypothesis for the future in the past).

WHAT’S NEXT?
Theories about ch. 291

Touya is the eldest child and was born on 18th January. Fuyumi as second child was born on 6th December which  makes possible the fact Touya and she were born in the same year, so they are 23 years old. If Touya had been deemed dead since the year when Shouto’s training as a hero started at the age of 4, there is a gap of at least 12 years in Touya’s life. Within this gap it is unknown how and what he got over as he was considered dead and what life he had been leading before joining the League of Villians. Of greater importance to the storyline will be the reminiscence of Touya in the face of death and his survival.

What was the incident that happened to Touya?
 He wanted to prove to Endeavor he could be better than Shouto.

With the appearance of Shouto’s quirk, Touya who used to be the only one who had potential for a hero all at once was of no use to Endeavor. If most of Endeavor’s attention was focused on Touya, after Shouto’s quirk occurred, Touya became persona non grata and got neglected like Fuyumi and Natsuo.

Endeavor must have raised Touya like he raised Shouto – harsh training and with the words “You must surpass All Might.” However, the incompatibility with his quirk must have made Touya suffer. At the same time Enji was disappointed with him and perhaps shouted his son was good for nothing. It must have happened frequently and may be the reason why he in tears used to go to Natsuo every day to ask him why he existed.

When he lost Enji’s attention, Touya’s self-esteem, life goal and 7 years’ training must have gone to hell as he was replaced his the youngest brother. This must have made Touya overdo in the way to prove to his dad he was still useful. His quirk may have gone out of control which led to him deeply burn himself.

Touya might have caused an ustoppable fire whose creation caused him serious burnts. Also, his healthy flesh started to peel off from the high flame temperature so that he had to embed it to his burnt one. Really painful and traumatizing events...

 Who will die in next chapter?

Dabi asked Endeavor to dance in hell with him, so this definitely means a battle till death. Will actually Endeavor fight?

Him, Shouto and Deku were in mere shock when they heard Dabi’s confession, so Touya will be the one to start the fight. Endeavor won’t fight his son. Enji might try to convince him that he is really sorry for all the wrongs he did to his family, but there is so much hate in Touya’s heart that he can’t even think of forgiveness. “You reap what you sow” as Dabi said. Endeavor has no right to expect Touya to show goodness when he had never received any from his dad.

Possibility 1. Both Dabi and Endeavor will die
If Dabi gives it Plus Ultra, he will definitely die this time. Endeavor has survived after fighting against potential killers, but in this case he fought with upgraded Shigaraki which is not only exhausting but dangerous  as he overheated. Even before Dabi’s appearance Enji was thinking how  he would be able to finish handling Shigaraki because Endeavor’s lungs were half gone. Endeavor will die if he fights with Touya or refuses to fight.

Possibilty 2. No one will die

However, Deku and Shouto are on the scene, too. Their place in the chapter isn’t random. They won’t stay blankly and watch the drama, but will certainly get involved in the situation. Shouto and Izuku may be the ones to stop this parricide and save both Touya and Enji from their fall.

Izuku was able to change Shouto, to make him accept himself as a unique individual and a tool for surpassing the greatest hero. Shouto himself after the UA festival started realizing many things about his feelings and set his new goals without Deku’s help and excluding Endeavor’s ambitions. So, now both Izuku and Shouto are emotionally wise and will try to dissuade Touya from fighting his dad. For that reason they will take part in the battle, too.

Possibility 3. One will die

However, the only power which can stop Touya from killing Enji is the power of words. Words can do great things. Who will convince Dabi not to fight his father? Shouto or Izuku? Will Shouto and Enji connect with the Touya who used to be an innocent boy? Will Deku, Shouto and  Enji succeed or will the hate harbored in Touya’s heart take predominance? If it is the last option which is most possible, Endeavor will certainly die.

Rei’s fate

Rei saw Touya’s video, too, as the TV in her room was on. Rei may go crazy and commit a suicide, but her reaction will be later shown. One thing is for certain – she won’t forgive Enji.

Heroes’ name

Heroes’ image will be totally ruined by Dabi’s video. At the moment of its airing two of Endeavor’s biggest fans were watching with dread on their faces. Their ideal for hero turned out to be worse than some villians. The top hero of the nation becomes the opposite of what All Might was - the Symbol of Peace.

What will happen to the other Todoroki children?

Todoroki’s siblings aren’t shown to be watching TV or to be using a digital device, but they for sure will understand about Touya’s confession as it will be a sensation on the news and not only there.

Natsuo

Of course, he will be shocked and definitely won’t forgive Endeavor.

Natsuo and Touya had a strong relationship. Touya still calls him Natsu-kun. They used to play together as kids. But, more importantly, Natsuo couldn’t forgive Endeavor because te his memories with Touya had always been fresh. Natsuo said he could still hear Touya’s voice in his head. Natsu must remember, too, that Touya would go in tears to him every day with the question: “Why do I exist?” By still hearing Touya’s voice in his head, Natsuo could also mean the awful incident which Touya experienced.

That’s why the two brothers have the same feelings for Endeavor. However, the difference between them comes from the fact that Natsuo hasn’t thought of revenge. Even if he has, he would never attempt to kill his dad as this would make Natsu even worse than Endeavor. If Natsuo had known about Touya’s intentions earlier (and the fact he is alive), he would have tried to dissuade him, he would have explained to him that killing Enji wouldn’t change anything and would worsen everything. Though, Touya wouldn’t listen to him. The hate in his heart is just too much and Touya got really inspired by Stain’s will.

Fuyumi

Fuyumi deeply cares for all her family mebers. However, for Touya she is aside from the story and his focus. She will feel heartbroken about her failed dream for family as it’s collapsing.
